My Beautiful Finch
Flying on her own path
leaving a streak in the sky
fearing the obstacles that are within her
chosen path.
Do not worry about our differences
for we are all different
not one of us is the same
some things are common
the rest are not.
Your strong belief of soaring
is the reason why I love you
you soar until you can no more
you lead our young ones to soar
you lead me to want to soar some more.
She has the coloring of perfection
the beak of a warbler
every trait of her is my favorite.
Even if I got to select again
I would still always choose you
my beautiful finch.
In honor of Charles Darwin's birthday being today. Here is a poem I wrote from the point of view of him describing his wife, Emma.
